Quality Standards for Chlorella Pyrenoidosa and Young Barley Grass Green Ways

Every batch of Chlorella and Young Barley Green Ways products undergoes thorough, multi-stage quality control. For each batch, a detailed “birth certificate” is created – a collection of documents verifying its quality from start to finish.

For example, the "Green Birth Document" for Chlorella BIO algae includes six separate analytical reports covering 581 quality parameters across 22 pages. It’s a comprehensive quality record rather than a simple certificate, ensuring the highest standards for every product.

The following parameters are analysed and assessed in our laboratories:

  • Sensory quality (appearance, colour, smell, taste)

  • Technological quality (particle size, powder flowability and viscosity, tablet hardness or friability)

  • Chemical composition (proteins, carbohydrates, etc.)

  • Presence of harmful substances (heavy metals, pesticides, polyaromatic hydrocarbons)

  • Microbiological profile

  • Gluten content

The quality standards for Chlorella Pyrenoidosa and Young Barley Grass Green Ways maintain the ‘double-check principle’ as the standard for raw material control. This means key safety parameters are checked twice to ensure top quality.

The first check and sampling for analysis happen immediately after raw materials are harvested, right in the field or on the farm. If the materials meet our standards, they’re then shipped to Green Ways headquarters.

On arrival, the same batch undergoes a second round of laboratory testing. If all checks out again, the batch is cleared, packaged, and prepared for delivery to customers.

In quality control, Green Ways believes in “measure twice, cut once.” With over 20 years of experience, they know that this careful approach is essential for providing reliable, high-quality products.

Certification is not just about documents - ISO 9001 quality management - Certified HACCP - BIO certification for organic farming

Certification independently verifies the quality of a manufacturer’s products and processes. ISO 9001 certification specifically ensures that an organisation's processes are set up to maintain consistent quality.

To achieve ISO 9001, a company must establish, document, implement, and continually improve a quality management system. This includes identifying and following key processes across the organisation to uphold product quality.

In practice, this involves engaging all employees, documenting essential operations, closely monitoring key processes and products, and evaluating data to achieve the highest possible standards.

The HACCP system is a preventive approach to food safety, designed to identify and address potential hazards early. It helps producers and distributors pinpoint weak areas in the production process, allowing them to control, analyse, or even eliminate these issues.

The BIO certification confirms that we adhere to organic farming standards throughout our growing and production processes. This certification focuses on environmental protection and applies to every aspect of our operations, including seed choice, fertilisers, and soil management.

To earn and keep these certifications, producers must meet the requirements and commit to regular audits.

Small internal audits are typically conducted annually, with larger recertification audits occurring every three years. These certifications are valuable tools that reflect a company’s commitment to quality and improvement, validated by an independent institution.

Green Ways proudly holds ISO 9001, HACCP, and BIO organic farming certifications, ensuring the highest quality and standards in all our products.
